Key changes from the Spam Assassin filtering system to netINTERCEPTOR.

Based on user preferences, which you can adjust via the interface, a three main actions that can be taken on suspect email.

“Tag” works much like the old spam filter, adding a “tag” in the subject line of the e-mail message indicating that the message is potentially spam. An example is [BULK]. If you use an email client like Outlook or Eudora, you may also choose to filter these into a separate folder for periodic review.

“Quarantine” holds suspected spam in the spam filter system for your review. To view your quarantine, simply log into the spam filter's web interface. From this interface you can white list or black list senders and classify suspected mail as “spam” or “not spam.” Over time the filter will learn from these actions and become more accurate for you. You can also set up periodic alerts to remind you to review messages in quarantine.

“Block” does just as it sounds. The filter will delete the message and take no further action. You will never see the message and will not receive notification of it being deleted. However, you may adjust your settings to turn this feature off if you are concerned about missing legitimate mail.

Many users will never adjust the default settings of netINTERCEPTOR and enjoy the benefits of automated spam and virus filtering.
