Set up Outlook 2000
1. Open Outlook 2000.
2. Click on Tools.
3. From the drop-down menu select Accounts.
4. The Internet Accounts window will open.
5. Click on the Mail tab.
6. Look for mail.lakefield.net in the Account field.
a. If mail.lakefield.net is listed, you will need to verify it is set up correctly.
Go to Checking Settings In Outlook by clicking here.
b. If mail.lakefield.net is not listed, you will need to add it. Go to the next step to add mail.lakefield.net to your Account.
7. Click Add.
8. Click Mail
from the drop-down menu.
9. The Internet Connection Wizard will open.
10. Enter your name as you would like for it to appear in the From field of outgoing messages.
11. Click Next.
12. In the E-mail address field, enter your complete Lakefield
e-mail address. For example, johndoe@lakefield.net <mailto:johndoe@lakefield.net.net>.
13. Click Next.
14. Select POP3 from the drop down box.
15. In the Incoming mail server enter mail.lakefield.net.
16. In the Outgoing mail server enter mail.lakefield.net.
17. Click Next.
18. Select POP3 from the drop down menu.
19. In the Incoming mail server enter mail.lakefield.net.
20. In the Outgoing mail server enter mail.lakefield.net.
21. Click Next.
22. Enter your account name.
Hint: It is the letters and numbers to the left of the @ sign in your e-mail address.
23. Enter your e-mail password. You will not see your password. Asterisks (*) will appear for each
character entered.
24. Click Next.
25. You will now need to select the method you will use to connect to the Internet.
26. Click on the radio button next to Connect using my phoneline.
27. Click Next.
28. Click Finish.
29. You are now ready to send and receive e-mail messages.
