Typical Netscape Email Settings
1. Open the e-mail client for Netscape
2. Click on Edit.
3. Select Mail/News Account Settings from the drop down menu.
4. Click on the New Account button.
5. The Account Wizard window opens.
6. In the New Account Setup screen, select the button next to the ISP or email provider option.
7. Click Next. The Identity screen will open.
8. In the Your Name
field enter your name as you would like it to appear in the "From" field of your outgoing messages.
9. In the Email Address field enter your complete Lakefield e-mail address.
10. Click Next.
11. The Server Information screen will open.
12. Select the button next to POP for the incoming server.
13. Enter mail.lakefield.net in Server Name.
14. Click Next.
15. The User Name screen will open.
16. In the User Name field, type your user name.
Hint: Your user name is all the characters to the left of the @ symbol in your e-mail address. For example: In the e-mail address, johndoe@lakefield.net
<mailto:johndoe@lakefield.net>, johndoe is the user name.
17. Click Next.
18. The Account Name will open.
19. Enter your e-mail address in the Account Name field.
20. Click Next.
21. The Congratulations! screen will appear confirming your User Name and Email Address.
22. Click Finish.
23. The account you just created now appears in the column on the left. Highlight it.
24. Click the Advanced button on the lower right.
25. The Advanced Account Settings window will open.
26. In the Server field, select mail.lakefield.net.
27. Click OK.
28. Click OK.
29. You are now ready to use Netscape
